As a token of appreciation for Spectrum Health employees’ dedication to caring for the community during the COVID-19 epidemic, Meridian Health Plan of Michigan and Apple Spice Catering Company teamed up to deliver 900 boxes lunches to Spectrum Health employees.
The lunchboxes were given to Spectrum staff at the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospitals in Helen DeVos, Blodgett and Butterworth.
Michigan’s COVID-19 rates, emergency room visits and COVID-19 rates are at record levels since October 2020. This is putting a huge burden on state hospitals and frontline workers. Many Spectrum hospitals are nearing their capacity.
“As the holidays approach, we wanted to find a means to thank our clinical team that are coming up and working tirelessly to care for patients that are sick,” stated Sean Kendall, Meridian Plan President and CEO. It’s not much, but it is a token of appreciation for the work they do for their members and the community. We hope that this little bit of nourishment will give them some relief in a time when healthcare can be exhausting.
