Health insurance can feel like a maze, but Inland Empire Health Plan (IEHP) is making it easier—and cheaper—for residents of San Bernardino and Riverside counties. As they kick off their second year on the Covered California health exchange, IEHP is once again offering the most affordable Silver plan in these regions. Open enrollment for new members starts November 1, but current plan holders can make changes now.
Affordable Coverage for Thousands
IEHP isn’t just about affordability—it’s about accessibility too. Since launching IEHP Covered, more than 23,000 residents in the Inland Empire have gained access to affordable healthcare. With the potential for over 200,000 uninsured individuals still eligible for Medi-Cal or Covered California, IEHP is focused on closing that gap.
Susie White, chief operating officer for IEHP, believes health coverage shouldn’t feel like a financial burden. “We want people to know there’s a plan that fits their life and budget,” she said, emphasizing that the goal is to make healthcare accessible for everyone.
Silver Plan Benefits You Won’t Want to Miss
For 2025, the Silver plan packs in even more benefits, giving members better value for their money. Expect zero deductibles and reduced out-of-pocket costs, making primary care visits, emergency care, and even specialty appointments easier to afford. Generic drug prices are also dropping, providing much-needed relief on prescription costs.
Five Coverage Levels—One That’s Right for You
IEHP’s offerings don’t stop with Silver. They provide five levels of coverage: Platinum, Gold, Silver, Bronze, and a Minimum Coverage plan. So, no matter your situation, there’s an option that works. Even better, while many other plans in California saw rate hikes ranging from 5.9% to 15.4%, IEHP’s rate increase for 2025 is just 1.8%—the lowest in the state.
Big News for DACA Recipients
A significant change for 2025 is the availability of IEHP Covered to Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipients for the first time. With nearly 40,000 DACA recipients in California now eligible, IEHP is stepping up to ensure these individuals have access to the care they need.
Looking to the Future
Wayne Guzman, IEHP’s director of sales and outreach, summed it up best: “We’re committed to making sure everyone in the Inland Empire has the support they need to find the right health plan. We’re not stopping until everyone has access to great healthcare.”
With the open enrollment period just around the corner, now is the time to explore your options. Whether you’re new to the exchange or looking to renew your current plan, IEHP is ready to help you find the coverage that suits your needs.
