This partnership will provide a more connected and personalized health experience for approximately 11 million customers. This new platform is available on myCigna and is part of Cigna Healthcare’s commitment to empower people – and their workforces – to make healthier choices and to develop healthier habits.
Virgin Pulse uses AI technology and behavior-change science to empower its customers to take charge of their mental, physical, and social health by setting realistic goals, making better choices and earning financial incentives. Participants can track progress by connecting to a fitness device compatible with the platform, such as an Apple Watch. They can also log their daily metrics, including minutes of exercise, weight, sleep time, and other daily metrics. Users can share their activities with friends, family, and co-workers to promote social health. MyCigna will connect customers to relevant programs based on their logged data and preferences, as well as claims experience. These include pre-diabetes or behavioral health services.
The new platform is available to Cigna Healthcare clients who have coverage through their employers as of Jan. 1, 2024. Plans are to expand the platform over time.
