Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts (Blue Cross), today announced a partnership with VillageMD. This is a rapidly growing national provider of primary care services based on value through its subsidiary, Village Medical. VillageMD will now be able to offer more innovative primary care services in Massachusetts through this partnership.
VillageMD is creating a network of primary care offices in the Commonwealth that are convenient and accessible. This will provide patients with a seamless experience that focuses on disease prevention and chronic condition management as well as healthy lifestyles.

Blue Cross and VillageMD have agreed to collaborate on innovative primary care solutions that will advance their mutual commitment to improving both the affordability and quality of care and the patient experience. VillageMD will also ensure that Blue Cross members have quick access to primary care appointments at its offices.

VillageMD and Walgreens have teamed up to provide coordinated primary care and pharmacy services through Village Medical at Walgreens. Village Medical doctors and Walgreens pharmacist team members collaborate to coordinate care for patients with chronic conditions as well as daily illnesses and injuries.
VillageMD has more than 300 offices in 22 markets and provides health care for more than 1.6million patients. Primary care providers accept most types of insurance, including Medicare.
