Curated mental Health, P.L.L.C., an innovative psychiatry practice in New York City, announced today they have entered into an agreement to partner Brooklyn Minds Psychiatry, P.C., and Mind Centers, Inc., its associated management services organization.
Curated Mental Health is committed to accessibility. They offer services that range from medication management and talk therapy to psychedelic assisted services. Once FDA approval has been granted, they plan to offer MDMA assisted treatment. Curated Mental Health is the only practice that currently covers psychedelic assisted therapy. This helps to bridge the gap in access to mental health services for patients in the New York City region. Curated Mental Health is led by CEO, Dr. Amanda Itzkoff, M.D., a New York-based psychiatrist who has been in practice since 2008 and is recognized as a national expert in treatments such as ketamine-assisted-therapy and perinatal psychiatry and has also completed a training course for MDMA assisted therapy. Itzkoff is a dedicated doctor who has set out to discover the best treatments and techniques. She was the first doctor to offer these therapies to patients in the United States, and she continues to do so. She is a tireless advocate for patients and has helped to expand the Brooklyn Minds Psychiatry collaboration.
Dr. Itzkoff stated that they are dedicated to providing the best mental health services to all patients. We feel that Brooklyn Minds will allow us to support this mission even more and help to remove the barriers that prevent patients from obtaining treatment for mental illnesses such as anxiety and depression.
Brooklyn Minds Psychiatry, P.C. This is a mental health and treatment center that offers a variety of services, including therapy, psychiatry and Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), as well as esketamine. It has locations in Brooklyn and Manhattan. Carlene MacMillan, M.D. Owen Muir and Carlene MacMillan, M.D. Brooklyn Minds was founded in 2016 by Owen Muir, M.D. The company grew from a single office to a multi-center, multidisciplinary mental healthcare practice that is highly collaborative with more than 30 clinicians.
Dr. MacMillan said, “As a psychiatric futurist as well as co-founder Brooklyn Minds,” and that he was proud of Brooklyn Minds’ evolution. He also stated, “I am proud to take this next step to share the lessons we have learned over time with a group of like-minded people determined to help patients get better.” Dr. Itzkoff and I have joined forces to bring great psychiatric care to many more people under the Curated umbrella.
Curated Mental Health is now in-network for multiple insurance plans. They are taking steps to improve access to lifesaving and groundbreaking treatments like neuromodulation, and the new field of psychedelic medicines. In order to build out the clinical infrastructure necessary to scale these innovative approaches, Brooklyn Minds will cease to offer certain services, including those for children.
