Alignment Healthcare has hired former Aetna executive Kevin P. Enterlein to head its Florida market, which the California-based population health management company entered January 1st.
As president of the Florida market, Enterlein is responsible for Alignment Healthcare’s overall performance in Florida as well as leading its provider network in the state. Medicare beneficiaries account for 20 percent of the state’s total population, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. Of those beneficiaries, two of every three are enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan.
On Jan. 1, Alignment Healthcare, which now serves Medicare beneficiaries in three states, entered into five Florida counties to provide more comprehensive and personalized care to Florida Blue’s Medicare Advantage members. Alignment’s clinicians coordinate and supplement the care of these members, with the help of predictive data analytics powered by more than 70,000 proprietary algorithms designed to improve care at lower costs.
Enterlein has led a long career in health care management. Since 1997, he has held numerous executive roles including president of Aetna Florida and chief operating officer of WellCare Florida, where he had profit and loss accountability in the state. He attended the Lubin School of Business at Pace University in New York and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
